Training and Experience: I began receiving spiritual direction in 2005 when I first made the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Finding spiritual direction incredibly nurturing and fruitful, I felt led to pursue training to become a spiritual director myself. After completing a three-year spiritual direction training program in 2010 at the Mercy Center in Burlingame, CA, I assisted in the Bay Area’s Sustainable Faith School of Spiritual Direction from 2012-2014. In 2015, I completed training for supervision of spiritual directors through Together in the Mystery, an affiliate of San Francisco Theological Seminary. Most recently, I have been trained to accompany others through the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola through Sustainable Faith. Denominational Affiliation: I have attended a variety of churches, from growing up in a non- denominational bible teaching church to attending a Baptist church in college, to a Presbyterian Church after college and now attend a Vineyard church. Specialties: I offer individual direction and accompaniment through the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. I enjoy working with anyone who hungers to experience God in a deeper way—both in the small stuff of everyday life and during the big ups and downs. I also delight in accompanying others through the Exercises. Style of Direction: I seek to provide a welcoming hospitable safe space for each individual to come just as they are. I use the contemplative model of direction, in which the individual is invited to take a moment to slow down and become attentive to the stirrings in their heart. I love to listen deeply to the stirrings in each person’s heart and soul. I feel humbled and honored to hear each person’s story and with them to see more clearly the unique presence and movement of God in their life. Personal Information: I have been married over 20 years and have a son in college. Besides offering spiritual direction, my husband and I take part in the marriage ministry at the Palo Alto Vineyard Church and serve on the Pastoral Care Team. I love gardening, crafting, knitting, and seeing God in nature. |
