Pronouns: She/Her/Hers Training & Experience: Continually transformed by my own experience of receiving spiritual direction, I've been studying and offering the art since 2003. I completed MA in Spiritual Formation & Soul Care from The Institute for Spiritual Formation in 2005 and supervisor training with Together In the Mystery in 2015. I find the language of parts and Internal Family Systems (IFS) theory extremely helpful and completed my Level 1 training certificate in September of 2023. Having served in the local church for years, I saw and experienced the deep need for safe space to care for the inner life. In a profession/ministry where quality of care is unregulated, supervision and development of spiritual directors is an area I’m passionate about. Affiliation: I'm a bit of a Christian mutt. I was raised Catholic, and Baptist. (Yup, you read that right.) Survived an almost fatal dose of evangelicalism before finding some healing in a small presbyterian church. Church continues to be an unfolding journey for me. I hold deep respect and find wisdom in all faith traditions. And, the Jesus story is most familiar in my own experience. I believe how we live our daily life matters and that our smallest contribution within our own circles can change the world. Specialties: * Internal Family Systems * Grief / Loss * Supervision of spiritual directors * Direction of spiritual directors * Pastors and those in professional ministry I find it an incredible honor to work with those who bring questions about faith, life and themselves. Especially, if you're feeling stuck or like the spiritual life/church isn't working for you anymore. Style of Direction: “There is a place in you where you have never been wounded, where there is still a sureness in you, where there’s a seamlessness in you, and where there is a confidence and a tranquility in you. And I think the intention of prayer and spirituality and love is now and again to visit that inner sanctuary.” John O’Donohue. My listening style is grounded in a contemplative stance as I trust you are able to hear and discern the voice of God in your life. I see my role as being open to notice and be curious with you about where God is in the content you bring to a session. I seek to use the language for God that you bring into the room. If desired, I can suggest practices for different seasons of life to help you connect with yourself and God. Personal Information: I feel most at home at the beach and redwoods-- especially in Santa Cruz. I enjoy travel, hiking, running, Box-fit, mountain biking, yoga, a good romcom, research psychology podcasts and, warm Hawaiian ocean water. I'm married to an incredible first gen Chinese man and we have two bi-racial daughters who frequently serve as my daily training in how to listen, love and live fully. |
