Training and Experience: I completed the three year Spiritual Directors Institute, Mercy Center, Burlingame, Ca. in 2005. Since then I provide individual and group spiritual direction, supervise spiritual directors and give retreats. I program manage the Spiritual Directors Institute training program at Mercy Center, which involves curriculum development, teaching, mentoring and supervising spiritual directors in training. I also direct the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. Before my work in spiritual direction, I worked for 30 years as a Project/Program Manager in high tech start-ups.
Denominational Affiliation: Inter-Denominational
Specialties: I tend to attract people who are facing hard realities and want to seek intimacy with God and open themselves to respond beyond their ego to choose the next step. Some examples are stay at home parents, retirees, Friends of Bill, formerly incarcerated, interracial relationships, gender challenges, long term illness and near death.
Style of direction: I use the contemplative model of direction - taking a loving look at the real. As we look together we begin to see glimpses grace and a next step that is close in.
Personal Information: I love to Zydeco-Cajun dance - I’m usually on the dance floor at least twice a week. I grew up in a beach town and find myself drawn to ocean. In 2016, I did something I never dreamed I would do or thought I could ever do: I ran and finished a Half Marathon in Monterey. While my time was slow, I wasn’t last and actually passed some other runners on the way. I am always amazed that I can do things I never thought possible. Lastly, I have a huge family and receive great joy from my siblings children and grandchildren.
